Metalized film delivers excellent heat rejection and proven durability at a price point below ceramic.
Metalized window film uses a thin metal layer deposited onto the film substrate. The metal layer reflects solar heat effectively, provides good UV protection, and creates a slightly reflective appearance. It offers excellent performance at a lower cost than ceramic.
Metal particles are sputtered onto the film in a vacuum deposition process, creating a uniform reflective layer. This layer reflects a significant portion of solar radiation, including both visible and infrared. The process is technically demanding. Quality differences between manufacturers are significant. Low-quality metalized films develop a rainbow effect and delaminate within a few years.
